In 1917, the state's second largest psychiatric hospital opened on six hundred wooded acres overlooking a small lake near Bedlam Falls, Michigan.

Through its doors came the weak and the weary, the disabled and the discarded, the frail and the forgotten.

Once I started, I could not put it down. The way the mysteries of the Tanner family and the old Asylum are gradually revealed throughout the story (in bits and pieces, allowing the reader to piece much of it together ahead of the protagonist) left me eager to learn the whole sordid truth.

Poorly written, editing nonexistent. The premise of the book was probably good, but the errors and misspellings and poor grammar were so distracting I did not enjoy it at all.

This book did keep interested through out the story, fover the ending is a little diappointing. Is there a continuation?
